ABOUT
Jan Kickinger is a cabinet maker and architect (not licensed in the US) now based in Pennsauken, NJ. Born and raised in the suburbs of Berlin, Germany, Jan developed a deep fascination for understanding the context of form and function in objects early on, which led him to bring a unique perspective to his craft. His particular passion lies in organic shapes and natural materials, with a special focus on wood.
Following his formal education, Jan completed a two-year apprenticeship as a construction joiner and cabinet maker in Germany. In 2000, he earned his degree in architecture from the Berlin University of Technology (BHT). Jan then dedicated over two decades to the fields of urban planning, urban redevelopment, and the preservation of listed historical buildings in Berlin and Potsdam.
Since relocating to the U.S. in 2019, Jan has expanded his expertise by founding his own company, where he brings together his 20+ years of architectural experience with hands-on project execution. He offers comprehensive architectural services – from initial measurements, planning, and 3D visualizations to preparing bid documents, coordinating contractors, supervising construction, and managing final approvals. Alongside these services, Jan also provides home improvement solutions such as furniture assembly, kitchen and closet remodeling, and art installation. This unique combination of architectural planning and practical craftsmanship ensures that every project, whether large or small, is thoughtfully designed and successfully completed. He proudly serves the Philadelphia and South Jersey areas.
